Biography

Sergei was born in 1988. Since 2022 he lives in London. He has been professionally engaged in visual practices for over 15 years and specializes in the making of photos and videos that reflect the people’s character and tell their unique stories. Human is the highest value in the works of Sarakhanov.

He implements projects that tell about the diversity of people's inner emotions, their destiny, life experience and creative activity. Sergei has worked with such extraordinary personalities as David Lynch, Robert Sheehan, Emmet Scanlan, Tom Rhys Harries, Jack Gleeson, Olivia Morris, Fin Greenall (Fink), Sam Lake, Ralph Appelbaum, Janusz Leon Wisniewski, Wladimir Klitschko, Jamala, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, Vera Polozkova and many others.

Sergei is the author of unique training programs of portrait photography. Besides the regular shooting activity, Sarakhanov holds the master classes, lectures and workshops and tutors his students individually.

Since 2010 he has held over 100 workshops and about 30 courses all over the world.

His personal exhibitions: «The heroes», 2008, gallery «Rabfak»; «The Eyes», 2008, gallery «Kvartal»; «People of art», gallery «It is not a Louvre» (Kyiv), 2018; «People of art», space «The art of Coffee» (Dublin), 2018.

Sergei is the creator of the visual image projects for Nike, Red Bull, Puma, Hennessy, Vodka Finlandia, Silpo, Nova Poshta, Canon, Lenovo, Huawei, LG. His works was published in many magazines and newspapers such as Sunday Times, Forbes, Vogue, Elle, L’Officiel, Die Zeit, Pulss and Playboy.

He is the winner of the “Best photographer 2010” and Grand Prix awards for "The Eyes" photo project. The work was honorably mentioned by David Clark, the head of the photography at Tate (London).

In 2021, together with the Port Agency for the Ukrainian Institute, he has created the portrait project 30 Independent. It is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine and shows the country through portraits of prominent Ukrainians - artists, athletes and scientists.
